NITK Surathkal to hold annual Technical Fest “Engineer ’19” from 18th October 2019

Mangaluru: The Annual Technical fest of NITK Surathkal, ‘ENGINEER’19 is scheduled to take place from the 18-20th October 2019. It is one of the biggest tech fests in the whole of South India and certainly the biggest of its kind in Karnataka.

The inauguration of the event will take place on the 17th of October, at 6.00 pm which will be looked over by Mr. Alok Ohrie, MD of Dell India as the Chief Guest of the event Prof. K Balaveera Reddy Chairperson BOG and Prof. K Umamaheswar Rao Director will preside over the function. The Theme of the event for this year is ‘SANRAKSHAN’ which means Protection of our nature.

The flagship events for the tech fest are the workshops which are conducted by various companies from across the country. The fest also has a lot of events conducted by the various departments at NITK such as ‘Reflux’ conducted by the Chemical Department, ‘Bot Hockey’ conducted by the Mechanical Department, etc.  The fest also includes Tech Mela which features a lot of exhibits such as the famous ‘Mitra’ The Humanoid Robot, Industry grade 3D printers, Dancing Robots and other state-of-art of technologies.

Another major attraction at ‘ENGINEER’ is ROBOWARS in which participants bring in their own self-made Robots into the battleground to fight and find a winner. There are also many other events such as Technites “Magicians of After-Dark”, laser shows, RDX Bike Show, Rally For River Cauvery and other exquisite electro-mechanical exhibits placed across the campus which are conducted by the students themselves.

Apart from these technical events Major Deepak Rao a military trainer and scientist and brand ambassador of the Indian army along with Sharad Sagar a young entrepreneur who became the CEO of Dexterity Global at the age of 16 and was in the Forbes ‘30 under 30’ list will be inspiring the students through their speeches during ENGI talks; the talk series of Engineer. The Technical fest also conducts a lot of non-technical events such as StarEve and Dj Nights. TVF stars Shivankit Singh and Badri Chavan will be performing at the Star Eve on the 19th of October. To conclude the fest DJ Shireen will perform at the DJ Night on the 20th of October.

This is the 15th edition of the ENGINEER and is open to students across the country. This fest will be a great opportunity for the budding Engineers of our country to learn about what’s new to the field of engineering and science while having fun at a prestigious institute.
