Mangaluru: National Institute of Technology Karnataka celebrated one more milestone in 61 years of Excellence on the 6th of August, 2020. The celebration commenced with hoisting of the flag by the Director, Prof. Karanam Umamaheshwar Rao.
Addressing the gathering, the Director said, “Today is a special day, for reflecting on the journey of the college and its significant development and achievements since inception. Let us be committed to the growth of the Institute, keeping in mind the vision and mission of the esteemed Founder, Sri. U Srinivasa Mallya, that is, to facilitate the transformation of our students into good human beings, responsible citizens and competent professionals, with a focus on assimilation, generation and dissemination of knowledge.”
The closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Year is postponed due to the prevailing conditions arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is now planned to be celebrated ahead of the Annual Convocation of the Institute.
After the address, Director Prof. K Umamaheshwar Rao, Mrs. Neeraja Rao, Deputy Director Prof. Ananthanarayana V.S, Deans, Registrar, Joint Registrar, Faculty and Staff members present at the venue expressed their respects to the founder, Sri U Srinivasa Mallya, with a floral tribute.
