The Department of Aeronautical Engineering and the Dept of Civil Engineering of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), Moodabidri have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, India. the Dept of Computer Science & Engineering and Dept of Mechanical Engineering had already been accredited by NBA in 2018. With this, a total of Four Depts have been accredited for the Quality process by NBA.
The accreditations will enable in realizing MITE’s Vision of attaining perfection in providing Globally competitive Quality Education. MITE is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and certified with ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
The Accreditation of NBA provides an assurance to all the Stake holders about the commitment of the Institue’s Vision and Mission in providing Quality education. Students studying in NBA accredited Institutions can be assured that they will receive education which is a balance between high academic quality and professional relevance and that the needs of the corporate world are well integrated into programmes, activities and processes. It signifies that student has entered the portals of an Institution, which has the essential and desirable features of quality professional education. The NBA Accreditation has been achieved by MITE by virtue of adhering to the Global Quality Standards – providing Industry relevant Quality Practical oriented Education, Excellent Academic Results year after year, Industry Academic Tie up, Focus on Research & Development, Enhancing Entreprenurial activities, Placement provided at World renowned Companies and Activities Beyond Academics for all round development.
The Accreditation Process has been possible through the multiple Industry linkages like MoU with SIEMENS, through which a Center of Excellence in Digital Design, Validation and Digital Manufacturing has been established, Bosch Rexroth Center of Competence in Automation Technologies, MoU with KPIT on Training and Employment in Automotive Domain, MoU with Carl Zeiss on Industrial Metrology, Advanced Partner Institute with Infosys Campus Connect. Also, to focus on global Education MITE has signed MoU with Major global Universities like Binghamton University, State University of New York, which is one of the highly ranked US Public University, Kumamoto University, Japan, MDIS Singapore and ITE West Singapore. The MoU with Global Universities has enabled MITE in inviting Professors from Foreign Universities and provide Certification Courses on latest Technolgoies and advacned Topics. Also, multiple International Conferences and Research activities are been undertaken in collaboration with Binghamton University, USA.
The Accreditation process also considers the results and Practical outcome of the education. MITE has been contiuously achieving 100% results in most of the Branches since its inception. Recently, MITE also secured Four University Ranks in the VTU Exmainations 2018. In addition, every year Students have been consistently participating in National Level Project Competitions organized by MNCs and securing Awards, which prooves the practicial approach adopted in the teaching methodology. Students of MITE recently designed, fabricated multiple Car Designs and won accolades at various competitions. The MITE Hybrid car won the Best Car, Best Driver, Overall championship in March 2019 at the Galgotia University. In April 219, MITE Students bagged All India III Prize for their Project ‘Smart Telematics’ at UNISYS Cloud 20/20, All India Annual Project competition. MITE has been in the finals of UNISYS Cloud 20/20 successively for the last Five years. Mechanical Engineering Students of MITE recently also bagged the State best Project Award at the KSCST State Level Project Competition 2018. MITE has been one of the college in the state to bag the maximum funding for the Project Sponsorship by Karnataka State Council for Science & Technology(KSCST), Govt of Karnataka. MITe bagged Sponsorship for 28 Projects in the year 2019. Also, MITE had secured First Prize and Platinum Award at the KPIT Sparkle 2017, All India Project competition conducted by KPIT. MITE has been shortlisted for the finals continuously in the last Four Years. Also, other Cars designed by MITE Students like SAE-BAJA All Terrain Vehicle, FMAE Championship Formulae car, Go-Kart Car, All Girls Go-Kart Car, Solar Car, Ec-Kart Car have been winning prizes continuously in the last three years.
The Accreditation Process considers focus on Entrepreneurship, and Support for Placement as one of the Key Factor. MITE has set up an Industry akin Incubation Center to provide support to the Young budding Entrepreneurs in the college. The State Govt of Karnataka, under the K-Tech Innovation hub has selected MITE as one of the Incubation center with a grant of Rs. 1.2 Crores. Also, MSME, Govt of India has selected MITE as one of the Incubation Center with a grant of Rs. 65 Lakhs. Presently 10 Incubatee companies are working at the Center, in addition to the Two existing IT Companies. MITE has also been provding Career opportunities to 500+ Students every year at Globally renowned companies. Students of MITE have been selected at Japanese based company: UT Technologies with a Annual Salary of 21+ Lakhs Per Annum successively in the last Three years.
MITE, currently is offering Undergraduate Courses in Engineering in the following Branches – Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering. As part of consistently adopting Quality measures, the other Three Depts of Information Sc, Electronics & Commn, Mechatronics Engg will also be getting Accredited by NBA shortly.
Also MITE is offering Post Graduate Master of Business Administration and M.Tech Courses in Computer Science Engineering, Computer Network Engineering, Digital Electronics & Communication, VLSI and Embedded Design, Mechatronics, Machine Design.
