MITE inducts 13th batch of engineering students

Mangaluru: Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE), Mijar, Moodabidri inducted the 13th batch of students of Engineering with an Orientation Program for the new entrants on Monday, August 5.

Welcoming the new students, Dr. G L Easwara Prasad, Principal, gave a brief of the College and highlighted the achievements and the National and International Awards won by the students of the College. He also spoke about the various Industry tie-ups that MITE has for providing global & Industry oriented Education, and also highlighted the progress achieved in the last 12 years. The students were then, briefed about the rules and regulations of the institute and the university norms.

Prof G R Rai, Advisor of MITE & Former Principal of NMAMIT Nitte, the Chief Guest of the function congratulated the students and asked them to be disciplined, follow the norms and to make the best of the opportunities that MITE offers.

Dr. C R Rajshekar, Vice Principal briefed about the college norms and Dr. Ganesh Mogaveer, Head, Dept of Civil Engg spoke about the hostel regulations.

Narendra U P, Dean (P&T) presented the importance of being professional and the essential of etiquettes, Dr.Asha Crasta, Cultural Coordinator spoke about cultural clubs while Glenson Toney, Manager, NAIN Incubation Center gave an overview of the incubation ecosystem & entrepreneurial support at MITE. A demonstration of college ERP by Heraizen Technologies was carried out for the benefit of the parents. Through the ERP, parents would be able to get all academic information & progress of their ward.

Rajesh Chouta, Chairman, Rajalaxmi Education Trust presided over the function and asked the parents not to shed their responsibility once their ward has joined the professional course, but rather keep a continuous tab on their wards academic progress. He also mentioned that, going forward a bond has to be built between the parents and the institution, and together can we bring success in each and every student. The students were also briefed about the Industry oriented certifications from major industries like SIEMENS, KPIT, Bosch Rexroth, UiPath and Infosys at MITE and also about the tie up with Binghamton University, State University of New York through which Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt Certification, Data Analytics Certification are provided to the students.

MITE inducted the students in the seven different streams of Undergraduate Engineering courses viz, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Civil, Mechatronics, Information Science & Aeronautical Engineering. The students would further undergo induction program for 11 days which begins on August 7 will cover professional module, literary activities, sessions on personality development, universal human values. The students will also visit orphanages and special schools to instill in them social responsibilities.
