Mangaluru: The 150th birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated in Milagres College, Mangalore on October 2, 2019. Internationally this day is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as Gandhiji was a preacher and practitioner of non-violence.
The Principal, Milagres College, Rev. Fr Michael Santhumayor, the Academic Advisor Prof. Lourdsamy and all the section heads along with the students participated in the programme. The young Milagreans were determined to tell the world to stop using plastic through a pledge. Rev.Fr Michael Santhumayor in his Presidential address urged the faculty and students to uphold the values of Gandhiji and highlighted the sacrifices he made for the country. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
