Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School, Mangalore, recently held a teacher-parent ‘Educational Consultative’ meeting for the 2019-20 academic year, at the school auditorium.
During the meeting, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, Principal, explained the motto and purpose of the school. “Lourdes Central School’s prime focus is to provide safety and help in the development of every student of the school. The educational system of the school is followed according to the guidelines of the Catholic Board Of Education (CBI) and CBSI. As per the government’s guidelines, home works will not be given to the students upto 3rd standard, instead, various activities will be introduced to the children, which will make the process of learning more interesting. Reducing the weight of the school bags, raising the awareness regarding students’ responsibility towards nature, and declaring Saturdays as “No Book” day, are some of the things which are followed in the school,” said Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza.
“The parents and teacher can know each other better, if the parents, on specific days, interact with the teachers to know about the developments of their children,” added the principal.
Discipline of the school, examination, evaluation process and other activities of the school were discussed with the parents in the meeting. Rules of the transport department, enhancing values in students, good and judicious use of electricity and water, etc were also discussed with the parents.
Teachers Anita Thomas and Henry Mascarenas explained the rules of the school, and Gretta Menezes and Sunitha spoke about the examination time tables and the evaluation process.
Vice-principal Belita Mascarenas and teachers coordinated the programme. Deepa D’Souza, Shyla Pereira, Lavina Seravo, Ivan Mascarenas and Roshan Cordero also cooperated.
Members for the Teacher-Gaurdian Executive Committee were also selected on the occasion.
