Moodubidire: The Karnataka women’s team won National Level Senior women Ball Badminton Championship for the fifth time in the row. Women’s team of Karnataka won against Women’s team of Tamil Nadu in the set of 35-32, 29-35, 35-24.
Karnataka Men’s team secured the 4th place as the team lost against the Indian Railways who won the championship this year.
Doubles Double Dahamaka
The Men’s team of Karnataka won against the Tamil Nadu team and Karnataka Women’s team won against Kerala and bagged the Championship Trophy in men’s doubles and women’s doubles event respectively.
In the semi-final match between Karnataka and Kerala, the team Karnataka won in the direct set of 35-31, 35-18. The Tamil Nadu women’s team won against Chhattisgarh in the direct set of 35-33, 35-24 and entered the finals.
Star of India award
Karnataka Women’s team captain Jayalakshmi and player Kavana, Karnataka Men’s team player Mahadevswamy awarded star of India title for their exceptional show. Interestingly, all three players are from Alva’s college Moodubidire.
