Hindi week celebrated at University College Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The graduation and post-graduation Hindi departments of University College Mangaluru observed ‘Hindi week’ from September 21 to September 26.

As a part of the celebrations, on September 23, RBI Mumbai Manager Dr. Madhusheela Ayilliath delivered a special lecture on ‘Hindi in the literary world’. Very next day, Maniben Nanavati Women’s College, Mumbai, Assistant Professor Dr. Ravindra Katyayan delivered a special lecture.

College Principal Dr. Uday Kumar M A presided over the valedictory function which was held on September 26. The chief guest of the event, Poona University Hindi Research Centre Professor Dr. Eshwara Pawar spoke on the present scenario of Hindi and new challenges being faced by the language.

As a part of the Hindi Week, online essay competition, Hindi poetry writing competitions were held for students, while a writing competition was held for the teachers of the college. More than 15 members participated in the competition.

Hindi Association Deputy Director Dr. Nagarathna Rao, Hindi PG Coordinator Dr. Suma T R were present on the occasion.
