Mangaluru: An Eye donation awareness programme was conducted by the Departments of Ophthalmology and MSW on 7th September 2019 at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital as a part of eye donation awareness fortnight.
Dr. Mohammed Guthigar, HOD of MSW department welcomed and briefed on the purpose. Dr. Vidya Hegde, The In-charge HOD of Ophthalmology, Dr. Sunitha Saldanha, Hospital Operations Officer, and Dr. Rashmi Bhat, Assistant Professor Dept. of Ophthalmology were present at the programme.
MSW students performed a theme show on the importance of eye donation. Dr. Rashmi Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology together with PGs made a presentation on eye donation, its importance, and the Dos and Don’ts of eye donation. They also clarified the doubts of the participants.
Mr. Ajmal Rasheek A.H, MSW student of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) compeered the programme. As many as 100 participants attended the programme.
