73rd Independence Day celebrated with great enthusiasm at Kanachur Health Campus

The Independence of our nation – India, was the result of years and decades and centuries of sacrifice and valour on the part of our ancestors and our revered freedom fighters & their commitment to India – to a free, sovereign, plural and egalitarian India – was absolute. The 15th of August every year we pay tribute to our freedom fighters and renew our resolve in our nation-building project.

The 73rd Independence Day of the Republic of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kanachur Health Campus premises on the 15th of August at 8:45 am. Haji U.K.Monu – Hon’ble Chairman, Kanachur Islamic Education Trust was the Chief Guest and was welcomed with a Guard of Honor by the school band along with Brig (Retd) Dr R.P.Singh – Guest of Honor & other dignitaries. Our national flag – Our Tricolor; was unfurled by the Hon’ble Chairman and then the large assembly of faculty and students sang the National Anthem with their heads held high. 2 patriotic songs were sung by the students of Kanachur Public School.

Haji U.K Monu – Chairman, Kanachur Islamic Education Trust; Mr Abdul Rahiman – Trustee, Kanachur Islamic Education Trust; Brig. (Retd) Dr R.P. Singh – Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine; Dr Sreesha Khandige – Associate Dean, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences; Dr DeviPrasad Shetty – Medical Superintendent, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre; Dr Rohan Monis – Chief Administrative Officer, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre; Dr K.S.Arif – HOD, Dept of Orthopaedics & Mr Suhail Khan – Principal, Kanachur College of Physiotherapy were on the dais.

Dr Sreesha Khandige welcomed the gathering. Mohammed Yasir, 3rd MBBS student shared his thoughts on the occasion. Brig (Retd) Dr R.P. Singh shared his Independence Day message with the gathering. He expressed about his time as an army doctor and the services he carried out nationally and internationally and the gruelling conditions too. But his voice stood firm on Nation First perspective. Haji U.K.Monu in his presidential address encouraged the students to understand the true meaning of freedom and at what cost this came to us. He threw light on the freedom fighters and their contributions in the formation of a democratic nation – India. Mr U.T.Iqbal conveyed his vote of thanks. Dr ShreeVidya. K – Associate Professor, Dept of Microbiology compered the event.

Dr Vivian D’souza – Principal, Kanachur College of Paramedical Sciences & HOD, Dept of Biochemistry; Dr Shahnawaz – HOD, Dept of Forensic Medicine; Dr Satish More – Asso. Prof, Dept of Community Medicine; Dr Rajshekar – Asst Prof, Dept of Community Medicine; Mrs Hemalatha – Principal, Kanachur PU College for women; Mrs Vinitha Mathias – Principal, Kanachur Public School; Mrs Anandhi – Principal, Kanachur Primary School; Mrs Linnet – Principal, Kanachur Pre-Primary School, HOD’s of various departments, faculties, non-teaching staff and students were present for the memorable event.
