Vijayapura: Vijayapura MLA Basana Gowda Patil Yatnal, who is eyeing the post of BJP state unit president, has now started appeasing the RSS to gain an advantage. In a controversial statement, he said that if the BJP comes to power again at the Centre, a new rule will be implemented to ensure that each married couple will have only two children.
Speaking to reporters in Vijayapura, he said that such a rule is required to stop the population explosion. “We will also scrap Article 370. The Rama Mandir will be built in Ayodhya,” he said.
Making his case as the best candidate for the post of BJP state president, Yatnal said, “I am the most dynamic youth leader of the party after former CM B S Yeddyurappa. There are no corruption charges against me and I am not involved in any scams. Therefore, I am the most eligible person to lead the party.”
