Vijaypura: Four persons died when a tum tum and a KSRTC bus collided here on Wednesday, October 2. This incident is reported to have occurred in the Kolar Police Station limits.
Reportedly, two of the four died on the spot while the other two died at the hospital without responding to the treatment.
Several sustained injuries in the accident and the death toll is expected to rise.
According to reports, the driver of the tum tum saw, from a distance, that the police were conducting checks for vehicle documents. Fearing that he would be stopped, he tried to escape by taking a detour. In his hurry to escape from the police, the tum tum rammed into an incoming KSRTC bus, resulting in the death of four persons.
While the police were collecting the details of the dead, a police car at the scene was set on fire by some miscreants. They also pelted stones at the bus, shattering its glass.
It is alleged that the miscreants set fire to the police car because the police personnel were torturing the tum tum driver.
