Vijayapura: Nine passengers died on the spot and six others sustained serious injuries when the cruiser four-wheeler in which they were traveling hit a canter in Chikkasindagi village of Sindagi taluk of the Vijayapura.
All the deceased are from Chittapura town in Kalaburugi district.
According to the initial inquiry report, as many as 16 passengers, including the driver were travelling in the cruiser vehicle. They were returning from Goa. The vehicle hit the canteen near Chikkasindagi village while over taking another vehicle.
Condition of one out of six injured is said to be serious.
