Vijayapura: Congress leader and activist Mohammed Rafiq Tapal has called upon all Muslims who are eligible for taking the Covid vaccine, to take the jab without fail and without any delay.

Speaking at the vaccination camp organized by the members of Sarvadharma Bhavaikya Manch at their office near Darga cross here, he said that he regretted that still many Muslims are reluctant to take Covid vaccines which is only putting their lives in danger during the second wave of Covid pandemic.

Stating that the second wave has proved to be very deadly and fatal even for the people of the younger age group, he said that the best way to protect us from this deadly virus is to get vaccinated as early as possible.
He said that it is the duty of Muslim leaders and clerics to dispel all false notions Muslims carry about the vaccines and give them a clear picture.

Informing that world over, the government has been extensively conducting a vaccination drive to save their citizens, he said that unfortunately in the absence of the right guidance, several Muslims are becoming victims to false propaganda and staying away from the vaccine.

“Today, over 14 crore people in India have taken vaccines. The government is also educating people about its safety and its importance, but still many people are not understanding it and is acting ignorantly”, Tapal said.

With regard to Vijayapura city, he said that several noted personalities of the city have already taken vaccines and called upon the people to follow them.

“Cleric, Sayed Tanveer Hashmi, Habibulla Attar, Salim Gudasi, Javid Mudhol, Abdul Hamid Mushrif, Sajjade Mushrif and so on have taken vaccines already”, he said.
