Vijayapura: “BS Yediyurappa had said that if the BJP comes to power at the centre and state, then Karnataka will become a heaven. Has Karnataka become heaven?” questioned former CM Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, February 25, Siddaramaiah said, “It is true that some BJP MLAs are upset. However, I cannot comment on this.”
Responding to BJP state President Nalin Kumar Kateel’s comments about the Congress party being a sinking ship, the former CM said, “Kateel does not know anything about state politics, I do not know how they made him the President.”
Commenting on US President Donald Trump’s visit to India, he said, ” It is not wrong to invite Trump to the country but the BJP has nothing to show him. They have not done any development and thus, they are only taking him to see Taj Mahal and Sabarmati Ashram.”
On the Mahadeyi water dispute, Siddaramaiah said that the Centre should be pressed to issue a notification in this regard. “The Karnataka CM and MPs must pressurise the Centre,” he added.
