Vijayapura: Deputy Commissioner, P. Sunil Kumar has directed the officials concerned not only to dispose of the grievances received from the villagers of Bammanahalli and but also clear the pending applications on priority.
He was speaking after participating in the state government’s ambitious ‘Deputy Commissioner’s march towards village’ program, where he spent the whole day with the villagers of Bammanhalli in Devarahipparagi taluk on Saturday.
During his visit to the village, he held public grievances meetings at Hanuman temple premises where he talked to the locals and collected information from them about the implementation of various government schemes.
The residents welcomed him in a grand manner and offered him flowers as a gesture.
He said that already, some 55 applications have been received from the village till February 15 which have been collected by the officials by visiting houses. Of these applications, 19 are pertaining to the revenue department, and the remaining related to various other departments. “ The officials have been asked to address their grievances and issue certificates also”.
The villagers submitted applications related to the old-age pension, a title deed, change of ownership of property, demanding houses under housing scheme, etc. “ Since some applications required more details and time to clear, the villagers should personally visit the relevant offices to get them cleared”, he said.
Informing that the government has made provision to provide at least 20 houses to poor people in every Gram Panchayat under housing schemes, he said that GPs can decide on giving houses based on the need or through the lottery process.
On the occasion, two physically challenged persons have also distributed vehicles, two more vehicles would be provided soon, he said.
During the stay, the DC also visited various localities of the village where he met people. He visited the school to interact with the students, visited the Anganwadi center, health center, temple, etc. He inspected development works and inquired about their quality.
The DC directed the officials to maintain quality in the construction of school buildings or any other government buildings.
While talking to the students, the DC advised them to give more care to the environment and cleanliness. He also asked them to study well for a better future.
