Vijayapura: Following the spike in the cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra the Vijayapura district administration has issued several fresh guidelines to prevent the spreading of covid infection in the district.

In a release, Deputy Commissioner, P. Sunil Kumar has directed the officials to follow certain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in the district to ensure that the number of covid cases does not increase substantially from the people arriving from Maharashtra which has been witnessing a second wave of the pandemic.

Mentioning those SOPs, he said that any institutions or organization of the district that reports five and above positive Covid cases, then such institutions should be declared quarantine zones. After seven days, all the staff members should undergo an RTPCR test.

Those arriving from foreign countries should bring the negative covid report. If they do not bring, then they will have to get an RTPCR test conducted at the airport itself after arrival.

Those wishing to enter the Vijayapura district from Maharashtra or Kerala should also get the RTPCR test conducted 72 hours before entering and get a negative report only.

Those who do not carry negative report, they should have stayed in quarantine facility till they get the negative to report. Those arriving at Vijayapura from Maharashtra should show RTPCR negative reports at the check posts set up on the borders taken at least 72 hours before. Even the conductors of buses should allow the passenger to board only after seeing the negative covid report.

As a precaution, the people should wear masks, maintain social distance and keep their hands sanitized.

All colleges of the district should deploy one person as Covid Nodal Officer for keeping track of covid patients.

Without the permission of the nodal officer, the students residing in hostels should not meet any friends or relatives. Keep the list of all students who have come from Maharashtra and Kerala and submit the list to officials concerned.

Till the situation improves all the students who wish to travel to Maharashtra or Kerala should bring RTPCR negative reports 72 hours before they arrive in Bijapur.

Except during emergencies, outsiders will not be allowed to meet the hostel’s students.

Even the students of Maharashtra and Kerala should not be allowed to visit their home states if it is not urgent.

The students of the hostels should also try to avoid joining in groups even at the hostels. If any student shows signs of covid then such students should immediately be made to undergo a covid test.

The officials have been asked to spread this awareness and pass the message to different institutions for strict adherence to the order.
