Vijayapura: A 50-year-old woman gave birth to quadruplets, whom she had conceived through in vitro fertilisation (IVF), at a city hospital.
Dalibai Saganalal Sandesh, a Marwadi woman from Rajasthan who has been residing in the city for decades, is the proud mother of the quadruplets. Her family migrated to the city for business purposes.
Dalibai and her husband, Saganalal Sandesh, had three children- two daughters, aged 21 and 19 years, and a 16-year-old son. Unfortunately, their son passed away recently, and with the hopes of having another male child, the couple opted to get pregnant through the IVF procedure (babies conceived through this procedure are commonly referred to as “test-tube babies”).
Now, the couple has four babies.
“The babies were delivered through the C-section operation. Two of the babies are male and two are female,” said the family members.
