Vijayapura: As many as 13 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Karnataka on Monday, April 20, of which 11 were reported from Vijayapura. The state’s tally is now 408.
Earlier in the day, five new cases were reported from the state, all were from Kalaburagi. With the addition of the 13 new cases, the total number of new cases on Monday is 18.
Apart from Kalaburagi and Vijayapura, one case each was reported from Gadag and Bidar. Patient 396 from Gadag is a 24-year-old man. He is a secondary contact of Patient 370. Patient 408 from Bidar is a 27-year-old man and is a contact of Patient 117.
The cases from Vijayapura are mostly contacts of Patients 221, 362. One patient, a 34-year-old woman designated Patient 405, is a contact of Patient 228.
Three of the fresh cases from Vijayapur are children below the age of 15. Patients 397 (a 7-year-old girl), 404 (a 10-year-old boy) and 407 (a 14-year-old boy) are all contacts of Patient 221.
Patients 401 (a 21-year-old woman), 402 (a 28-year-old man) and 403 (a 47-year-old woman) are contacts of Patient 362. The rest- Patients 398 (a 36-year-old man), 399 (a 27-year-old woman), 400 (a 25-year-old woman) and 406 (a 38-year-old woman) are contacts of Patient 221.
So far, Karnataka has reported 16 deaths and 112 discharges.
