Ballari: In a big set back for the Congress, Ballari rural MLA B Nagendra Prasad’s brother, industrialist B Venkatesh Prasad joined the BJP.
But interestingly party state vice-president MLA B Sreeramulu, who was in the city didn’t arrive at the party office to welcome Nagendra.
B Venkatesh Prasad is aspiring for BJP ticket from Ballari (ST) reserve constituency in the Lok Sabha election.
Prasad was upset with the Congress for not giving him a ticket in the Ballari Lok Sabha by-election held in October-November 2018.
Prasad, after his induction to the BJP, rushed to B Sreeramulu’s residence. Later addressing a joint press conference, both the leaders informed that their goal is to defeat the Congress in Ballari Lok Sabha seat.
Meanwhile, Devendrappa, a relative of former minister, Congress leader Ramesh Jarakiholi also joined the BJP expecting the party ticket.
Interestingly, both Ramesh Jarakiholi and B Nagendra are in New Delhi holding a discussion with the BJP national leaders on quitting the Congress.
