Belagavi: In an unusual event in the district on Sunday, two women gave birth in the same ambulance.
Ruksana Kanabar of Malabada village in Athani taluk and Rajashree Karabara of Baligeri village both began to experience pre-labour pain and called for an ambulance. An ambulance from the Athani government hospital was sent and picked up both women.
But, the pregnancy couldn’t wait till the hospital. Both women gave birth to healthy babies due to the cordial support of the nurse and staff present in the ambulance. Rajashree gave birth to a girl and Ruksana to a boy.
The public and the police complimented the role of the nurse and staff involved in the successful deliveries.
