Belagavi: Amid high tensions at the Karnataka-Maharashtra border, Shiv Sena leader and spokesperson Sanjay Raut is expected to arrive in the city on Saturday, January 18.
In order to prevent any untoward incident during Raut’s visit, security has been beefed up across the city.
Raut is expected to partake in a felicitation ceremony for Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders.
It can be recalled that Maharashtra Public Health Minister Rajendra Patil Yadravkar had arrived in the city to participate in a martyr’s day programme organised by the MNS party. However, the police took the minister into custody and released him near the state border.
In response to the incident, Raut challenged that he would definitely attend the MNS programme on Saturday, despite the consequences.
