Belagavi: After the general election results, a lot of developments are taking place within the Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition government. Efforts are on to keep all the coalition MLAs and ministers safe from the suspected ‘Operation Lotus’ by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Amid this, rebel Congress leader Ramesh Jarkiholi has been in news ever since the Belagavi Cooperative Bank election row, where the rift between him, his brother and State Forest Minister Satish Jarkiholi, MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and state Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar had reached the peak. Some of the Congress leaders are still fearing that Ramesh has fallen for the “entrapment” by BJP. However, Satish Jarkiholi has said that his brother Ramesh joining BJP is still a suspense.

Speaking to media here on Saturday, May 25, he said that Ramesh joining BJP was like a ‘yet to release’ movie.

Taunting Ramesh he said, “Ramesh’s situation is like an unreleased movie, where nothing is known about what is actually going on in his mind. A lot of filmmakers make movies and store it in a box. You never know what is in it. It is a similar scenario with him.”

“He has been offered a ministry several times by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, but he is still not ready to accept. His intention is to make the state coalition government collapse, for which he has stepped out of the Congress party long ago. Regarding his return, I have already told CM HDK that the efforts to get him back will not pay off and that it is good to forget him”, he added

Speaking on ‘Operation Lotus” Satish said, “While Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take oath on May 30, here in the state, the BJP will begin its ‘Operation Lotus.’ Although Ramesh lacks enough number of MLAs and ministers from the coalition, he will make an attempt to bring a tremor in the state coalition. PM Modi has said that he will not indulge in hate politics but we need to wait and watch if his statement is true.”

Modi medicine unites JDS and Congress in the state

Satish Jarkiholi stated that Congress and Janata Dal (S) coalition leaders must thank PM Modi for uniting them by decimating both the parties in the Lok Sabha election.

“It is a blessing in disguise. No medicine was working to unite the two parties. But Modi medicine has worked,” he said.

“BJP may do the operation, but it will not succeed. Congress and JDS leaders are together. The Lok Sabha election has brought both the parties together,” he added.

“Party leaders should thank Modi as all the indifferences within the coalition have been resolved. We are united,” said Satish.
