Belagavi: A youth has allegedly been threatened by MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar’s son, for posting a video of the Congress leader speaking in Marathi at the Rani Chennamma Circle accompanied by negative comments in the post.
Mrinal Hebbalkar, son of Lakshmi Hebbalkar, has allegedly threatened the life of Pawan Mahalingapura, the Gajasena’s Bagalkot district president.
It is reported that Mrinal allegedly sent a message to Pawan through Facebook Messenger, stating that if he dared write anything against ‘madam’, he would not be spared.
“I will come directly to your home and send you on your way, just wait and watch,” he added in the message.
It can be recalled that, yesterday, when Lakshmi Hebbalkar addressed the gathering of Congress party workers who were protesting the failure of the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa-led state government to release flood relief funds, she had spoken in Marathi. This did not sit well with the party workers, who demanded that she speak in Kannada, to which she obliged.
The Congress leader also received flak on all social media platforms for speaking in Marathi.
