Belagavi: The Kakati police seized explosives weighing 6.675 tonnes and worth Rs 4 lakh near a dhaba at Honaga village. The explosives were being transported by violating safety protocols through the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway in the taluk.
The police have detained three suspects in this connection. They are identified as Ramesh Rayappa Lakkot, Raju Ishwar Shirgavi from Bobalwas in Chikkodi and Arun Srishail from Mugali.
The Kakati police stated that the explosives were being carried by violating norms of goods vehicles and that they are further investigating the case.
