Belagavi: In a horrific car-truck collision at Srinagar, National Highway 4, five people lost their lives, here on Sunday, June 2.
The deceased are Nandu Pawar, Mahesh Chauri, Amula Chauri, Suresh Kaneri and Amula Navi, all residents of Devagiri, Maharashtra. They were travelling from Kolhapur towards Goa.
One more person has been severely injured and is availing treatment in a hospital.
According to police, the tyre of the speeding car burst causing the mishap. The driver of the truck is absconding.
Police Commissioner B S Lokesh Kumar, DCP Yashodha Ontagodi and ACP N V Bharamani visited the spot.
A case has been filed at Malmaruti Police Station.
