Belagavi: The chopper arranged for Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who had to leave for the Maharashtra Assembly election campaign rally in Sangli, was delayed by three-and-a-half hours here on Wednesday, October 16.

BSY, who was staying at the tourism bungalow in the district, was completely upset by the delay. Evidently upset over this, he immediately called Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi and, in a high volume, told him that he was unwell and at that the helicopter had issues.

He later told Savadi to cancel all his programmes scheduled for the day as he would be returning to Bengaluru.

DCM Savadi managed to convince BSY to change his mind and arranged a helicopter for him at 12.30 PM.

Earlier in the day, before he left for Sangli, BSY had meetings with various BJP leaders at the tourism bungalow.

According to reports, the helicopter, which was supposed to leave from the Sambra Airport at 8.30 AM, experienced technical issues due to bad weather.
