Bengaluru: The nomination filing for the 14 Lok Sabha (LS) constituencies of the second phase of the LS elections ended on Thursday and scrutiny of the same was carried out on Friday, April 5.
According to the scrutiny reports from the 14 LS constituencies, a total of 318 candidates had filed their nominations out of whom around 30 were disqualified.
Following the disqualifications, there are now 288 candidates who will be contesting for the 14 LS seats in the 17th Lok Sabha elections.
The Returning Officers of the respective constituencies had received a total of 457 nominations from 318 candidates. Of the 14 constituencies, Belagavi stands the highest with 65 candidates.
