Bengaluru: As the by-polls for 15 Assembly constituencies are inching closer, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa called for a meeting of his Cabinet ministers and directed them to work hard to help the party candidates emerge victorious.

According to the reports, BSY, in a recent meeting, warned his ministers saying that if they want to keep their portfolios, they have to put in maximum efforts in the campaigning and help their candidates win. Reportedly, he also said that some of the ministers would need to sacrifice their portfolios for the sake of the party.

“Some of the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) legislators have sacrificed immensely for the BJP. Being ministers, it is the top priority and duty of each minister to help them win. Remember that this meeting should not be the last meeting,” the CM said.

It can be recalled that earlier, BSY had assured the disqualified MLAs that they would be given Cabinet berths. It is said that this is why BSY took this decision during the Cabinet meeting.
