Bengaluru: The state women’s commission has dropped the MeToo charges against BJP Bengaluru South constituency candidate Tejaswi Surya.

This decision has been taken following an email by the victim to the commission that she and Tejaswi are good friends and Congress leaders lodged this complaint to defame and spoil the political career of Tejaswi.

“Based on the email, we dropped the case,” said Nagalakshmi Bai, chairperson, Women’s Commission.

All started with a tweet by the victim immediately after BJP announced Tejaswin’s candidature for Bengaluru South. KPCC retweeted her tweets and called it as a MeToo movement of Karnataka. Later, Congress women’s wing approached the women’s commission seeking action against Tejaswi. Based on this complaint, the commission had started the proceedings.
