Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar, on Thursday sought to know why the Rashtriya Swayam Sevaks are out on street collecting funds and distributing food items among the people, even as the nation is put under complete lockdown.
Demanding that both state and central governments convene a meeting of opposition leaders to discuss measures for controlling the spread of COVID-19, he said that only one organisation is out distributing food while others are asked to stay at home.
“The CM and the PM must convene a meeting with the opposition leaders to take everyone into confidence. We must understand that the Corona crisis is not confined only to the BJP,” he said.
Attacking the RSS he said that the situation is being used by the saffron outfit for political benefit.
“Who gave them the permission?” he quizzed adding that the BJP is trying to get political beenfit through the RSS during the time of the crisis.
He opined that if the Congress workers too resort to going out of street doing the same as the RSS, it will create a situation that will be difficult for the state to manage.
Meanwhile, he also welcomed the decision of the CM of opening a relief fund.So far, 55 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Karnataka.
