Bengaluru: Veteran journalist Ishwar Daitota received the Doctor of Literature degree for his study on development communication from Hampi University.
Daitota submitted his thesis titled ‘Development Journalism on the basis of Development Communication: Challenges – Opportunities’.
Hailing from Daitota in Panaje village Puttur Taluk DK, he bagged the Best Development Journalism Reporter award in 1982 from the Bangalore Reporters Guild. Also, the Karnataka Government recognized his contributions to journalism and honoured him with the title Best Development Journalist of the Year 2007.
Daitota has written, translated and produced more than 70 books in the Kannada and English languages on media, culture, politics, journalism, and development.
Ishwar has a rich experience in print, radio, film, television, and online journalism. He also has international exposure with more than three decades of industry experience. He is a well-known TV anchor and visiting professor at various Universities and media institutions on subjects such as media, culture, development, media management and entertainment.
At present, he is an independent journalist contributing to various print, radio, and e-medias.
