Valmiki community protests for reservation, DKShi stuck in jam

Bengaluru: A massive protest broke out near the Vidhana Soudha here on Tuesday, June 25 by the members of Valmiki community demanding an appropriate reservation policy for them.

The protestors had gathered from different parts of the state at the Freedom Park, who later, marched towards Vidhana Soudha. Due to this, there was traffic congestion in front of Vidhana Soudha.

The protestors were joined by Sri Prasannananda Puri Swamiji of Sri Rajaveera Valmiki Samsthana.

BJP leader Sriramulu and Congress leader V S Ugrappa too rushed to the protest spot.

Meanwhile, State Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar’s convoy was stuck in the traffic congestion. He then alighted from his car and took a metro train to travel towards the Special Court for Peoples Representatives to attend the hearing of the benami property case.
