Additional Commissioner (Administration) will be looking after Bengaluru West and Dasarahalli and Additional Commissioner (Waste Management) will be responsible for the Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli regions.

The department has also given new powers to the special and additional commissioners.

They will be given the powers of the BBMP Commissioner under the Karnataka Municipalities Act (KMA). The commissioners will be given the power to handle money-related activities of departments such as waste management, horticulture, housing etc. They will also look after the income of the BBMP through tax collection, revenue and advertisements. Both the commissioners will be retaining their other powers.

The BBMP Commissioner has also been given new powers such as supervision of coordination between different departments and formulation of a code of conduct, sanctioning of the BBMP budget, special sanctions and budget-related matters. The Commissioner will also be given charge of other departments which have not been distributed among the special commissioners, proposals to be presented in front of the BBMP Council and Standing Committee, exchange of letters and documents between the BBMP and the government, representing the BBMP in all government and committee-level meetings and other powers excluding the ones given to other commissioners under the KMA.
