Bangalore: Legal and Parliamentary affairs minister T B Jayachandra guidelines that the ministers in the assembly, irrespective of their differences should take up the concerns with regards to high-end marriages and dowry.
Making a statement to the Akhila Karnataka Peoples Parishad, Jayachandra said that there should be control for such kind of luxurious marriages. In 1976 itself law had been made for the ban of costly marriages; however that has not been abided.
He clarified that with regards to the ban the opposition party leaders prohibited against the amendment, due to which things lingered.
However BJP Rajya sabha member Venkaiah Naidu welcomed the amendment but said that it leads to corruption as it makes someone to make money easily and indirectly it will lead to black money.
