Bengaluru: Under pressure from a section of parents, the state government has taken a landmark decision, the repercussions of which will be evident with time – the State Government has permitted the online classes for all the children between LKG and SSLC. A notification in this regard was issued late evening on Sunday.
According to the notification, online classes are proposed for LKG and UKG students once a week. This shall be not more than a 30-minute session. The parents must sit with their children during the session.
For students between Class I and V, online classes are permitted on alternate days or in other words, once in two days. The classes shall be of 30 to 45 minutes duration twice a day.
For students in Class VI and VIII, online classes are permitted five days in a week. The online class sessions shall be conducted twice a day for a max duration of 45 minutes each.
For class IX and X, there can be four sessions a day, five days a week. The session duration shall be 30 to 45 minutes.
The government directed the schools not to collect any extra fees in the name of online classes. The notification stated that it shall be part of the annual fee.
