Bangalore: The State Government will decide on splitting the Bangalore University at its next cabinet meeting, said Education minister R V Deshpande.
Answering K Gopalayya of JDS during question hour, the minister said discussion on division of the university is in process. In the next meeting final decision will be taken, he said.
Rudra committee had suggested that the university be split into three, however, the previous BJP govt had decided to only bifurcate the university into two So the governor sought more consultations on the matter.
We have already discussed with the officials regarding the division. It will be done in such a way that students will not be affected. It won’t create any problems for those Students from Tumkur, Kolar and Chikballapur and far places.
