Bengaluru: The state government has announced 130 taluks of 23 districts as flood-hit in the state.
Additional resources has been released to these taluks to take up the relief works.
According to an order issued by the state revenue department, six taluks of Dakshina Kannada, Belagavi (14), Uttara Kannada (10), Kalaburugi (9), Bagalkot (9), Dharwad (7), Shivamogga (7), Udupi (7), Chikkamagalur (6), Haveri (6), Ballari (6), Raichur (5), Yadagiri (5), Bidar (5), Hassan (5), Mysuru (4), Vijayapura (4), Gadag (4), Kodagu (3), Davanagere (3), Koppala (3), and one each taluks of Chamarajanagar and Mandya notified as flood affected.
The taluks were declared flood-hit following a report submitted by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNMDC) which looked into the havoc caused by the torrential rain and floods earlier in August.
In an official order, the Karnataka government said these areas were “declared flood-affected with immediate effect until further orders.”
