Bengaluru: The state government has decided to celebrate the Hampi Utsav in the month of February in a simple manner.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting chaired by district in-charge minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday evening.
It can be recalled that originally the district administration had planned to organise the Utsav in the month of December 2018.
However, citing drought as the reason, it was postponed. It resulted in a war of words between the BJP and the Congress leaders.
Under the pressure, now the state government has instructed the district administration to organise the Hampi Utsav in a simple way.
Senior officials from the Ballari district administration, people’s representatives and the officials from the tourism department participated in the meeting.
According to the decision, the Utsav will be held for one day. “The district administration will prepare the event list and other details. The DC is authorised to fix the date,” said sources.
