Senior Citizen’s death: BBMP to appoint senior officer to monitor ambulance services

Bengaluru: Yesterday a 63-year-old COVID 19 patient died in front of his residence at Hanumanthnagar after waiting for an ambulance for 3 hours. Following this incident, the BBMP has decided to appoint a senior officer to exclusively handle ambulance services

The incident happened at Shri Ramanjaneya temple road of the city. The senior citizen was tested positive 3 days ago. The ambulance staff had assured the family that they would come by 1 pm on Friday. The person waited for the ambulance until 4 pm. Around 4 pm he collapsed and died in front of his residence after developing breathing difficulties.

As this video went viral, BBMP commissioner BH Anil Kumar assured that a dedicated officer will be appointed to ensure that such an incident will not repeat.
