Bengaluru: V K Sasikala, aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, has been diagnosed with Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).
It can be recalled that Sasikala (66) was admitted to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital after developing a fever and complaining of breathlessness and cough.
The doctors have, however, informed that her RT-PCR tests came back negative for COVID-19 and added that her condition is stable, The Hindu reported.
According to The News Minute, the former All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader is presently recovering in the jail ward of Victoria Hospital, as this is the designated hospital for the treatment of convicts., informed dean and director of Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, Dr Manoj Kumar H V.
Sasikala is currently serving out a four-year term in connection with a disproportionate assets case. She was convicted on February 14, 2017. According to her lawyer, she is set to be released on January 27 after paying a fine of Rs 10 crores.
