Bengaluru: Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa on Monday June 14 announced Rs 1 lakh compensation to BPL families of persons who were victims of Covid – 19
Speaking to media persons, CM said that to alleviate the sufferings of the families of Covid – 19 victim, we have decided to offer the compensation for BPL families. A family is eligible for compensation only on the death of an adult member of the family sue to Covid – 19.
CM informed that the compensation package will cost around Rs 250 – 300 crores to the State ex-chequer. We have a list of 25,000 families who are eligiblw for compensation, he added.
It is for the first time that such a compensation has been declared by any state government in the country.
