Bengaluru: Amid heated debates between the political parties following the Lok Sabha exit polls favouring the National democratic Alliance (NDA), Congress leader Roshan Baig seems to have bugled a rebellion within the state Congress party. While the opposition is blaming the exit poll results on the alleged EVM tampering, Baig has slammed his own party leaders including former chief minister and CLP leader Siddaramaiah, and All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Karnataka State In-charge K C Venugopal and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Dinesh Gundu Rao, holding them responsible for the poor results, here on Tuesday, May 21.
Baig called K C Venugopal a ‘buffoon’ and blamed Siddaramaiah for the downfall of state coalition.
Speaking to media, he said that he felt sorry for AICC President Rahul Gandhi for having “bufoons” like Venugopal take charge of the state Congress.
Regarding the exit poll surveys, he said, “The total failure of the state coalition that we are seeing today is because of the arrogant Siddaramaiah and flop show by KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao.”
On ministry portfolios assigned in the state coalition, he said that the portfolios were sold and not assigned. He said that there was no point in questioning Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on it, when he is not able to function independently.
He ridiculed Siddaramaiah stating that CM HDK had not gone to his doorsteps for the CM post, but it was the other way round.
Commenting on Lok Sabha minority seat shares, Baig said that the Christians were neglected without even a seat and Muslim community was just given one seat.
Meanwhile, CM HDK who had a scheduled visit to Delhi to attend a meeting by the opposition parties on alleged EVM tampering, has cancelled it following these developments.
