Bengaluru: S G Neginhal, a well-known forest officer, died of COVID-19 at the age of 92. In 1973, he was in charge of launching Project Tiger in Karnataka. Over the course of five years, he supervised the planting of 1.5 million trees in Bengaluru.
Neginhal was born in the Uttara Kannada district and he was a member of the Quit India Movement while he was in high school.
Many people shared their grief over his death.
