Possibility of rejection by voters looms large over disqualified MLAs

Bengaluru: The disqualified MLAs have been fielded by the BJP in the by-elections, which will be held on December 6 in 15 constituencies. While the BJP has been confident of winning maximum seats in the by-polls, a sense of anger is being manifested by the voters against the disqualified MLAs, both offline and online.

It is known to all that former JDS leader H Vishwanath and couple of other rebels were posed with uncomfortable questions by the voters during the campaigning. The voters were seen asking the rebels as to how they took a unilateral decision of quitting their own parties and why they did not deem it important to seek the permission of the voters who voted them to power before joining the BJP. After this episode, it is now seen that people are resorting to innovative ways of telling the rebels that they should know their limits.
In KR Pete, voters have pasted pamphlets that read, “No entry for rebel/ disqualified MLAs.” The incident took place in Hemmanahalli in KR Pete where several JDS voters have put up these pamphlets up to express their anger against the rebel leaders. The village is a JDS fort and such posters are seen in almost each and every house, causing a lot of embarassment to the rebels. The police, however, visited the village and convinced the people to refrain from taking up actions of any kind that may cause tension in the village.

Hashtags against rebels
Meanwhile, social media is abuzz with several hashtags against the rebels or the disqualified MLAs. #Defeatthedisqualified, #RejectdisqualifiedMLAs and #saveconstitution have been trending. Prominent personalities like Justice Santhosh Hegde, Doreswamy among others too have supported these hashtags.
