Bengaluru: Relatives of a patient who died at the government-run Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICR) vandalized the hospital by breaking glass windows, and furniture.
Hospital management lodged a case at Tilaknagar police station.
As per sources, 55-year-old Anvar Pasha died at the hospital on Sunday late evening. Over 40 of his relatives who barged inside the hospital broke the glass doors, furniture and threatened the hospital staff.
According to the hospital management, the miscreants broke the ICU door glass even though there were several other patients inside the unit undergoing treatment.
Hospital director CN Manjunath condemned the incident. “This incident shocked all of us,” he stated.
According to the sources, deceased Pasha was suffering from heart ailment and was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
He was rushed to hospital on Sunday evening as he developed chest pain, but he succumbed in the hospital.
