Opposition urges CM to request special package from Centre during COVID-19 meet

Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on Friday, May 8, met with the Opposition parties to discuss the COVID-19 situation in Karnataka.

At the meeting held at the CM’s office, CLP leader and former CM Siddaramaiah, Congress leaders S R Patil and D K Shivakumar, former CM H D Kumaraswamy and former state minister H D Revanna, both from the Janata Dal (Secular), were present.

Siddaramaiah’s media secretary informed that the CLP leader and KPCC president D K Shivakumar have urged CM BSY to request the Central Government to announce a special package of Rs 50,000 crore to Karnataka to help in the fight against the novel coronavirus. They have also urged the CM to request special packages for small and medium scale industries.

In the meanwhile, CM Yediyurappa has announced a special package for those who are working on the roadsides like cobblers and leather workers.
