Bengaluru: The state transport authority chairman V P Ikkeri has informed that the suspension order of cab aggregator company, Ola’s permit was revoked after they paid a fine of Rs. 15 lakhs.
It can be recalled that on Friday, the authority had suspended Ola’s permit for six months, causing unrest among the thousands of cab and auto drivers attached to the company.
Speaking to reporters, Ikkeri said that Ola was given one day’s time to pay the fine.
“As per the rule, we suspended Ola’s permit for six months. Now, it has been withdrawn as the company accepted its faults and made rectifications. There was no political pressure,” he clarified, adding that Rapido, another cab aggregator, has been served with a notice for launching bike taxi services.
According to sources Ola paid the fine through a DD.
