Bengaluru: Kampli MLA J N Ganesh of the Congress party, who has been languishing in prison for past one month, was denied bail in connection with the assault on fellow party MLA Anand Singh at a resort in Bidadi.
His bail was rejected by the special court for people’s representatives in the city and he is likely to move the High Court seeking bail.
Ganesh, who stands accused of assaulting Anand Singh on the midnight of January 19 at a resort, was arrested in Gujarat by the Bidadi police.
Following the fiasco, he was also suspended from the Congress party.
The incident occurred when the Congress kept all its MLAs in the resort to stop the BJP’s efforts to topple the state government through ‘Operation Kamala’.
