Bengaluru: Here is the real new year gift for the passengers, especially women who travel by Metro in the city. Starting from January 1, 2020, the BMRCL has decided to extend the Namma Metro services till 12 mid night.
The BMTC has also decided to provide last mile connectivity from the metro station.
BMRCL Managing Director Ajay Sait announced this decision. Presently, the last trains is at 11.25 pm from the Majestic Metro station. From the mid night of January 2020, it will be at 12 mid night.
The morning service will start at 5 am as usual. “This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the women and their demand,” explained Sait. Meanwhile, the BMTC also announced that last mile connectivity from the last metro stations will be extended through new buses.
BMTC MD C Shikha informed that all efforts will be done to ensure that the commuters reach their homes safe. “We are in touch with the BMRCL authorities. Our services will also be extended as per the extended metro services,” she said.
